She joined Channel 13 in 2003.A post on the station's Facebook page stated, "she is no longer with WVEC. It was a management decision back in January." A post on Adams' Facebook page made it appear that she was blind-sided by the decision. Adams has been replaced by Chesapeake native Ashley Smith who was crowned "Miss United States" in 2011. Smith started her on-air career with Chesapeake's cable-only channel "WCTV."
